To many, the first name that comes to mind when hearing the word “Warriors” is Stephen Curry. Perhaps the greatest shooter of all time, he is a Golden State legend after 12 seasons with the team. Alongside Klay Thompson, the Splash Brothers are the leading scorers of the Warriors in all zones.

Evidence of how impactful Curry has been on the Warriors is the shot chart below. We see players that hold the record for a zone that played for the Warriors a long time ago. Latrell Sprewell and Joe Smith lead the left midrange zones since the 1996-97 season! Antawn Jamison‘s 2001 and 2003 seasons put him in the lead in the paint and right baseline respectively.

Monta Ellis was one of the best scorers in the NBA during his seven seasons on the Warriors and his 2008 and 2011 seasons are the best from the right elbow and the top of the key.

Klay Thompson shot 40% from the right corner in 2017, making 45 buckets. Mickael Pietrus in 2007 actually did better than that from the left corner, making 52 shots (43%).

It’s no surprise that Steph Curry is the leader from 3-point range, in both wings and straight-up three. His 2020-21 is actually the franchise’s best from the right wing. What’s crazy is that he made 49% of his shots from the left wing in 2016 – 49%!!! That’s a better field goal percentage than the mid-range shooters on the chart!

Interestingly enough, it’s not all Steph here! Al Harrington‘s 43% from the straight-3 and Anthony Morrow with 49% and 47% from the left and right wings put them on the chart as the most efficient 3-point shooters. Curry is greatly efficient and leads the two corners with 50% and 48%!

Kevin Durant finally makes his appearance here as he dominates the mid-range, especially the left elbow (60%). Old-timer Chris Mullin leads the right elbow. 2015 Finals MVP Andre Iguodala is the most efficient from the paint.
