Both the Swiss and Turks have been underperforming. Who will turn it around?
Group A has already offered brilliant highlights and an amazing football story to follow. Italy has been praised for their fluid attacking style and they put 3 goals passed both Switzerland and Turkey. The two teams lost 3-0 to Italy and they battle it out today.
From the Swiss team, we expect Breel Embolo to continue his good performance in terms of expected goals (0.6), key passes (3), and especially dribbles (4 out of 7 successful). Granit Xhaka is expected to lead the attacking efforts as he has had 13 passes into the opponent’s attacking third, 116 carries (!!!), and 142 successful passes. Manuel Akanji is set to be a good alternative to Xhaka for the Swiss’ attacking development. Shaqiri’s 4 key passes have only led to 1 assist and he will be looking to get some more against Turkey.
Turkey expected more from Burak Yilmaz as his 0.7 expected goals have yet to lead to a goal. Söyüncü has tried helping the offense with 107 passes, 7 of which into the attacking third. This has not been enough for Turkey so far. Cengiz Ünder needs to take his good dribbling to the next step. Hakan Ćalhanoglu has provided 5 key passes and his teammates will hopefully convert against Switzerland.

Outlook
Switzerland needs a win to make it into the next round. Their quality and talent make them favorites for this match with 56% probabilities. They will have to capitalize on their chances this time around.
Turkey still has a chance to reach the round of 16 in these Euros. They need a win, but with 19% probabilities it looks like a great challenge. Can they beat the odds and turn a disappointing tournament into a success?
